Home owners coverage suggestion

Homeowners should all be checking their policies to make sure they have coverage for sump pump failure. We have had a large number of claims over the last few weeks with all of the snow/sleet/rain.

As it melts and refreezes, it can back up the pipe that drains the water from your sump and cause the water to come back into your home and damage carpet, drywall and other items.

Most policies require that you add this coverage as an endorsement. This means it NOT automatically included in your coverage. Some companies will even require a waiting period to add it, so do it now before we get into the big spring thaw!
